Broccoli – Romanesco Italia
Heirloom
Seed Source: Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds
We actually have two sources for this seed for 2011 (Baker Creek and Hirt’s Gardens). We haven’t grown this before, but it is a unique variety.
Broccoli – Packman
Seed Source: Jordan Seeds
We’ve grown this since 2008. It is a pretty standard variety of broccoli; once the head is picked, it produces side shoots throughout the summer. Puck (or dog) loves broccoli, and has been seen eating this from the plant.
Brussels Sprouts – Churchill
Seed Source: Johnny’s Selected Seeds
This is a hybrid variety. In Minnesota, we’ve found that Brussels Sprouts have a long season. We typically start transplants 8-10 weeks before the last frost, and don’t harvest until fall. This could partially be due to soil condition, though – so we’ll see what happens this year!
Cabbage – Early Jersey Wakefield
Seed Source: Jordan Seeds
A new variety for 2011! Check back soon!
Cabbage – Primo

Cabbage – Ruby Perfection
Seed Source: Jordan Seeds
A new variety for 2011! Check back soon!
Cauliflower – Cheddar
Seed Source: Johnny’s Selected Seeds
F1 Hybrid variety. An orange-colored cauliflower. We have tried growing this plant since 2008, and have never been successful. Probably due to poor transplants and garden conditions – hopefully this year will be better!
Cauliflower – Fremont
Seed Source: Johnny’s Selected Seeds
F1 Hybrid Variety. Check back for updates!
Cauliflower – Violetta Italia
Heirloom
Seed Source: Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds
A purple variety. We direct-seeded this in the garden last year, and it never produced florets. This year we’re starting it indoors.
